Indie Theater Now playwrights got a lot of love from the New York Innovative Theatre Awards this year!
Forgive us for bragging...but hey: who doesn't like to be told that their work is oustanding?
That's exactly what NYITA is saying to our playwrights, and we second the motion: we really appreciate the validation that this vote of confidence brings to some of the remarkable new scripts we've published over the past year.
All six of the plays recognized as Oustanding Original Full-Length Script are on Indie Theater Now! They are: An Appeal to the Woman of the House by Christie Perfetti Williams (coming soon!), Dark Water by David Stallings, Lights Narrow by Vincent Marano, Old Familiar Faces by Nat Cassidy, Pirira by J.Stephen Brantley, and The Gin Baby by Sarah Shaefer. (We're hoping for a six-way tie in this category when the awards are announced in September.)
In addition, two ITN plays are among those honored as Outstanding Original Short Script: Kate Kertez' Dumbo and Mark Loewenstern's One is the Road (published in his collection of shorts entitled Meaty One Act Plays).
Three of the six Outsanding Performance Art Productions have texts that are by ITN playwrights. Adam R. Burnett's Magic Bullets is already published here, while Kevin Augustine & Edward Einhorn's The God Projekt and Chance Muehleck's The Maiden are on their way.
And last but not least, Crystal Skillman's Wild is among those named for Best Revival -- nestled among works by playwrights like Shakespeare and Shaw.
We are excited to share these acclaimed works with our readers. So for the next four weeks, you can buy our New York Innovative Theatre Awards 2014 Collection for only $7.20! That's 12 scripts for less than half the regular price. You'll get access to the nine currently published immediately, and the other three will be delivered to your ITN library as they are added to our site.
