I'll be conducting a talkback after the Sunday, December 7th 2pm performance of If Colorado had an Ocean... at the First Floor Theatre at La MaMa. Our friends at La MaMa are making a special offer to our readers for this performance only: tickets are available for just $10 each! Just order online here and use the special code INDIE, or come to the box office and give the same code (so there’s no credit card fee). (Tickets are normally $13-$18.)
We appreciate La MaMa helping to make the show even more accessible to our readers in the indie theater community...and I can't wait to see the show and chat about it with playwright Mike Gorman.
In If Colorado had an Ocean..., Drugs, fishing and rock and roll clash in an epic battle for control over a job-site radio in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1988.The wonderfully titled world-premiere play is chronologically the first part of Mike's trilogy "The Honor and Glory of Whaling." The second and third parts, which have already been produced, are Ultralight and The Honor and Glory of Whaling. Both are available on Indie Theater Now (scroll down for links).
Mike talked to ITN about the show here, and also did an interview on La MaMa's blog here. Check them out and then be sure to grab your tickets for Sunday afternoon's show! You should definitely buy in advance because this show is likely to sell out!
